ASTM E648 Flooring Radiant Heat Flux Test Apparatus

This test method measures the critical radiant flux of horizontally-mounted floor covering systems exposed to a flaming ignition source in a graded radiant heat environment within a test chamber. It can also measure the critical radiant flux for exposed attic floor cellulose insulation.

Suitable for all types of flooring materials including textile carpets, soft wood, wood, rubber and plastic flooring, and floor board spray materials. The apparatus evaluates combustion performance of flooring systems including substrates, backing materials, or any modifications that may affect test results.
